SHOW THE PROGRESS | BUILD THE PATHWAY
This guide gives clubs, associations, coaches and families a consistent way to measure athletic development.
The aim is not to label young athletes.
It is to show where they are now, what the next level looks like and whether their training is moving them forward.

Lower times are better. An athlete achieves a level by equalling or beating the listed time.
The four-line shuttle covers approximately 140 metres and includes repeated changes of direction.
Higher distance is better for the standing broad jump. Fewer jumps and lower times are better for the remaining tests.
The defensive-slide assessment measures the athlete's ability to sustain legal lateral movement across a regulation court.
IMPORTANT INTERPRETATION NOTE
These are Basketball Advantage Provisional Standards. The directly comparable published data are strongest for sprinting and standing broad jump. The custom T Run, four-line shuttle, continuous broad-jump and full-court defensive-slide standards are evidence-informed starting targets rather than official AIS, NBL or WNBL testing standards.
Professional ranges are reference points, not verified league records.
Athlete selection should never be based on one physical test alone.

A useful pathway does more than identify the strongest athlete today.
It gives every athlete a visible next target, measures whether development is occurring and helps coaches make better-informed decisions over time.
